Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered into a search tool is transmitted to the third-party company operating that tool. That company processes the query and supplies whatever result its service makes available. Richland Parish Court Docket does not separately retain or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When a visitor sends an email, the message may be kept for as long as needed to handle the communication. It stays within the organization unless a lawful disclosure is required.
Data We Gather Automatically
Loading a page may cause our servers to receive ordinary technical details about the visit, such as:
- The IP address assigned to the device
- Browser type and version
- Device category and operating system
- Viewed pages and the time spent on them
- The referring site, when one is supplied
- Page-view timestamps
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files stored on a device. They can help measure overall use, including which pages receive visits and where sessions end. Analytics providers may process that aggregate information. A browser can block cookies, though some site functions may then behave differently.
What We Do With This Data
The technical details described above may support ordinary operations, including:
- Keeping the pages running and improving load performance
- Sending a submitted search query to the applicable partner service
- Measuring which reference pages receive visits
- Detecting and fixing technical faults
- Showing advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Richland Parish Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case-record information. It gives general access information for records held by the Richland Parish Clerk of Court, Fifth Judicial District Court, local municipal venues, and Louisiana remote-access systems. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party files.
Third-Party Search Partners
Search boxes may be operated by outside companies. Information entered there is subject to the provider's privacy policy, retention practices, and sharing rules, rather than this policy. Read the provider's policy before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links lead to clerk pages, court portals, Louisiana remote-access systems, and third-party search resources. Following an external link takes the visitor to a separate service whose privacy policy governs that visit. Review it before providing personal information.
Advertising partners may also track activity across sites for ad customization. That activity occurs on their systems, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be shared with:
- Search partners that process a submitted query
- Analytics services used for traffic and performance measurement
- Advertising networks that place ads on the site
- Government bodies or law enforcement when a valid legal obligation requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
Standard security measures are used to help protect collected information. No system connected to the internet is fully secure, so no promise can be made that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
Richland Parish Court Docket is intended for adults. Personal information from someone under 18 is not knowingly collected. If a minor's information is sent to the organization, it can be addressed.
Your Data Rights
Available rights depend on location and the type of interaction. Louisiana Public Records Law, R.S. 44:1, provides the framework for access to qualifying public records. R.S. 13:754 addresses the Louisiana Clerks' Remote Access Authority framework for electronic court-record access. Neither law makes this private resource a custodian of court records. At a minimum, a visitor may:
- Request a copy of information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate
- Request deletion of data when appropriate
- Opt out of certain data-processing activity
Updates to This Policy
